Aly Raisman is sticking her wings out.

The TV commentator and retired gymnast, who holds six Olympic medals, including three golds, is ready to show off her biceps.

“When I was younger, I was teased for being too muscular,” she told Alexa at the Prabal Gurung Spring 2025 runway show, held under the limestone arch near City Hall Park. “Literally, up until a few months ago, I wouldn’t wear tank dresses or tank tops or anything sleeveless.”

“I just had this moment, maybe it was when I turned 30, where I’m just going to wear what I want to wear and not worry about what other people think or how my body looks in something,” she explained. athlete, who rocked a crystal-encrusted black minidress with strappy sandals. “It’s just interesting and kind of crazy how making fun of me when I was in fifth grade stays with you for so long! I’m letting go of all that stuff, so it’s been great!” she added. “It was something big for me in Paris [at the Games] because I was showing my arms.”

Raisman is under fire for the Olympic gymnastics scoring controversy, which saw her friend Jordan Chiles first place fifth in the individual artistic floor exercise, then win a bronze medal after her coach made an inquiry into the result of difficulty. However, after the Romanian team appealed the decision, Chile was stripped of its medal after it is alleged that her claim was not submitted within a minute of her final result being posted, as required.

The US team then submitted new time-stamped video evidence that the probe had in fact been delivered in 47 seconds, but the Court of Arbitration for Sport said it could not reconsider its decision. Now USA Gymnastics and the US Olympic and Paralympic Committee are appealing to the Swiss Federal Court, the highest court in Switzerland.

“I think it’s so unfair what’s going on and it’s not fair,” Raisman shouted. “I love Jordan Chiles so much and I’m so determined to help him in any way I can. Fingers crossed and she deserves to have the medal.”

Raisman said she was confused by the timing issue. “It doesn’t make sense because according to the rules, it’s someone’s job to keep time, so they’re not allowed to take the request if it’s not under the minute. So someone who was taking time accepted it, meaning it was under that minute time frame. And then the referees admitted that they had made a mistake with the marking. I think there needs to be more transparency and answers and more accountability about how this happened. The IOC has given more than one medal before, so I am not sure why they are doing this,” she added.

“This is all so devastating and so unfair. I can’t even imagine what that must have been like for him, but I’m so proud of him.”

Fashionista Raisman admired many sleeveless day and evening looks on Gurung’s cobbled runway, where models navigated high heels while an orchestra played classical music. A gentle breeze turned full skirts and long scarves into floating works of art.
